Survey collision: the oldies are taking over
I’ve been saying for ages that Generation X-ers will continue to be a powerful demographic even unto their dotage, despite old age being a decade or two away. Not only will they represent a powerful voting bloc, which will have major implications for future governments when they continue to fudge pensions, but they will be a major part of the workforce (especially in the UK, where literacy is falling). A report on BBC is already showing how today’s wrinklies are already in demand by employers.
But what about the youngsters? The proportion of young people in England who are not in education, training or work appears to have gone up. What are these whippersnappers doing with their time? They’re playing conkers.
